Introducing Jack Dawson!

It’s been a while since we introduced you to a new member of our IFP family, but today we bring you brand new Finance Assistant, Jack Dawson! So you probably want to know a little bit about Jack’s background, right? Take it away, Jack…

Ever since I was around 12 years old, I had always taken an interest in business, which led me to choose Business Studies for my GCSEs and A-levels. So, at the point of leaving college, with a GCSE and an A-Level in Business under my belt, it was becoming clear to me the path that I would take.

The idea of working in accounts or finance particularly piqued my interest, as my dad, Gary, has AAT qualifications and has worked in finance for over 30 years. This urged me to pursue a career in finance, and so I undertook an apprenticeship in a small accountancy firm and started my own AAT studies.

Working in an accountancy practice was a tremendous experience, and I obtained a wealth of knowledge and skills that are invaluable to me. However, after obtaining my Level 2 and Level 3 AAT, and over 2 years at the firm, I knew I was ready for a new challenge. I was looking for somewhere I could grow, somewhere where I could enhance my career, and somewhere I could feel part of a great team.

My friend Tom, IFP’s Marketing Assistant, had always spoken so highly of his working environment and colleagues, so when an opening came up for a finance assistant, naturally I felt like this could be the job for me and engaged in the application process.

A few weeks down the line, I was absolutely delighted to learn that I had been offered the job and started my journey with Informed Financial Planning.

I am just coming to the end of my first week and my overall first impression is nothing but positive and Tom definitely didn’t oversell it. It is everything I expected and more. The staff have been incredibly welcoming and made me feel very settled even from the first day. The offices are magnificent, adopting a very modern style that gives the workplace a sleek aesthetic, and helps create an ideal working environment.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first few days and am beyond excited for my future here at IFP.

Thanks Jack! If you would like to join our team like Jack did, you can check our vacancies on our Join The Team page here.
