About our credentials

It’s important you know that the firm you work with is highly qualified and follows a strict code of ethics, so always check the Financial Services Register to ensure they are authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. You can view our record here.

We are an independent firm which means we are not tied to any providers, allowing us to recommend products from the whole of the market which are most suited to your needs. We are authorised to advise on the full range of financial planning services, including areas such as occupational pension transfers. These are complex areas that require special qualifications and permissions.

We were also the first firm in Yorkshire to achieve Corporate Chartered Status. This is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to firms who demonstrate commitment to developing knowledge, enhancing capability and maintaining ethical standards. The Pensions Advice Taskforce

A representative industry body set up by the Personal Finance Society, has established a voluntary code of good conduct for Safeguarded and Defined Benefit Pension Transfers advice – The Gold Standard. We were delighted to obtain this accreditation in May 2019.

Obtaining the above credentials, along with our extensive list of awards below, has allowed us to build trusting relationships with our clients and we now manage funds worth over £234m.

The Financial Vulnerability Taskforce

The Financial Vulnerability Taskforce is a newly created independent representative body covering the Personal Finance Sector. Its ultimate purpose is to promote greater understanding, encourage appropriate behaviours and establish good practice in respect of consumer vulnerability.
We voluntarily follow 9 statements under a set Charter which ensures we have the highest standards when dealing with those in vulnerable circumstances. We obtained this accreditation in February 2021.

Investors in People – Silver

In January 2021 we achieved ‘We Invest in People’ silver accreditation.
Only 15% of organisations achieve silver, and it means that the right principles are in place but more than that, it means all of us at IFP are making active efforts to make sure we are consistent and that everyone in the organisation feels the effects.
