What do you find most rewarding about financial planning?
I love the technical side of financial planning, the variety of challenges and the fact that no two days are ever quite the same. But for me, the most rewarding part is the people. Once you’ve built a genuine relationship with a client, there’s nothing better than helping them turn what can sometimes feel like a complicated financial picture into a clear plan that gives them confidence. Whether it’s helping someone achieve a lifelong ambition or simply giving them peace of mind, it’s incredibly rewarding to know you’ve made a real difference.
What do you enjoy most about working at IFP?
Definitely the people. We have a great team at IFP, and there’s a real sense that everyone wants to do the best for our clients and for each other. I also love that we’re independently owned, which means we can genuinely put clients first and give advice based on what’s right for them. There’s always plenty going on, lots to learn and, fortunately, plenty of laughs along the way too!
Tell us a little about you outside of work
Outside of work, my family comes first, and I love nothing more than spending time with my wife and two sons, Jude and Archie - who are becoming increasingly good at keeping me on my toes! When I get the chance, I also enjoy socialising with friends, watching football, boxing and F1, and getting away on holiday. Ideally, somewhere warm, with a cold drink in my hand and absolutely no plans to leave the pool.
Something you might not know about me...
I’m a big fan of Padel. I’m still waiting for the day when I can blame my partner rather than my own ability for losing, though!
