Work That Means Something More

We believe great financial planning starts with great people. Find out what it’s really like to be part of the IFP team, and why so many of us stay.

What’s It Like To Work Here?

At IFP, we’ve built something that’s hard to find elsewhere. A place where your contribution is noticed, your life outside work is respected and your work genuinely matters, to us and our clients.

We think in decades, not quarters. That applies to client relationships, career progression, and how we build the business. Whether you’re just starting out or bringing years of experience, we invest in your development. Exam fees, study materials, training allowances, professional memberships – it’s all covered. Your career matters to us.

Our Values

These aren’t aspirational statements written for a website, they’re the things that guide how we make decisions every day.

Mindfulness

We make thoughtful decisions that support our clients, colleagues, and the wider community. It’s about taking a step back, considering every angle, every person, and acting with care and intention.

Integrity

We always do what’s right, even when it’s not easy. We’re committed to honesty and accountability, whether it’s owning our actions or standing by our values, what we think, say and do are the same.

Collaboration

We believe the best results come from working together. By combining our strengths and being able to rely on each other, we create an environment where everyone contributes to achieving shared goals and successes.

Achievement

We are focussed on achieving meaningful outcomes. Whether it’s meeting client goals or pushing ourselves to reach new heights, personally or collectively, we’re passionate about delivering results that matter.

The Perks of the Job

We’re in this for the long term and so are you. That’s why we’ve built a benefits package that covers every part of your working life, not just the obvious bits.

Work-Life Balance

Work-life balance at IFP isn’t just a phrase – it means flexible hours, two days at home each week, seven-hour working days, birthday leave to properly switch off, the option to purchase additional annual leave when you need more time and even the freedom to work abroad for up to six weeks if life takes you there.

Health & Protection

Your health, and your family’s security, shouldn’t come with added stress. That’s why we provide private medical insurance for quicker access to treatment, along with critical illness cover and death in service protection for added peace of mind.

Financial & Reward

We operate a quarterly bonus scheme linked to performance, values and accuracy, so reward reflects the quality of your work, with the potential to double when targets are achieved. Alongside annual pay reviews and a 3% pension contribution, we ensure your development is recognised properly over time.

Family Support

Family matters, and we support you properly through it. Our enhanced maternity package builds with your length of service, and fathers can take up to four weeks of flexible paternity leave, with enhanced pay to make that time financially secure as well as meaningful.

Lifestyle & Perks

We support life outside the office too, with discounted gym membership, a Cycle to Work scheme to make upgrading your bike easier and access to KP Golf Club whenever you fancy a round.

Learning & Career Development

Professional development is taken seriously at IFP. We cover exam fees and study materials, provide training allowances and fund professional memberships, giving you the structure and support to build expertise and progress properly.

Some benefits require management approval. Full details are available on request.

Hear From the People Who Make IFP

Charlie

I joined as a paraplanner and, with structured support and exam funding, progressed to Chartered Financial Planner – a journey I couldn’t have taken alone.

Sam

I’ve worked at places that say they look after their people. At IFP, you actually feel it in everyday, in the culture and the rewards.

Jack

I didn’t know if I was ready to leave my previous job – IFP made me realise I was, and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

Caitlin

I came in with no financial services experience, looking for a change. I joined as an apprentice – a year later, I’m a Client Services Administrator.

Your Wellbeing, Our Priority

We pride ourselves on putting our team first. That’s why we joined the Business Wellbeing Charter – as a commitment that we hold ourselves to every day. Our Wellbeing Team and Mental Health First Aiders are here specifically to make our team’s working lives better. We run a range of events, like the ones outlined below, to bring everyone together throughout the year. If you’re not okay, we want to know and we’ll do something about it.

  • Team building days – Every summer, we put an out-of-office on for the day and do something fun together, as a whole team.

  • Social events – The classic Christmas party, and other more casual events throughout the year. Join in as much or as little as you like!

  • Wellbeing team – A dedicated team focused on making your working day brighter and better.

  • Volunteering programme – Take time to support the causes that matter to you.

You Might Be One of Us

We don’t hire based on a rigid template, but the people who thrive at IFP tend to share a few things in common that go beyond qualifications and experience, and nobody explains it better than our Executive Director and Chartered Financial Planner, Joe.
