Hours: Minimum of 21 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours during busy periods
About the Role:
We are seeking a Marketing & Business Development Assistant to join our team for maternity cover. Reporting directly to the Business Development Executive, you will support the completion of tasks within our marketing plan and assist with various business development projects. This role does not require formal qualifications as full training will be provided, but some experience in a similar role would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning: Assist in planning and executing a minimum of 10 events per annum, managing logistics, liaising with venues, and coordinating with external partners.
- Design Work: Create and edit social media graphics, presentations, leaflets, and other promotional materials using Canva. You will need to have a good eye for detail and design, and be able to apply our brand style guidelines, including tone of voice.
- Website Maintenance: Help keep our website up to date, including updating the ‘Meet the Team’ page, fixing hyperlinks, and adding new blog posts.
- Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively. Strong communication skills are essential as you will be required to book and manage both internal and external meetings, including coordinating joint events with other firms.
- Award Submissions: Assist with award submissions by gathering necessary information from different internal departments.
- Social Media Management: Work closely with our digital marketing partner, Growth Provision, to complete monthly social media questionnaires and upload regular stories to our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
- Promotional Materials: Help order promotional materials such as business cards, leaflets, roller banners, etc.
- General Support: Provide general support to the Business Development Executive and assist with day-to-day marketing and business development activities as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools is essential
- Good eye for detail and design
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle logistical challenges
- Some experience in event planning or management
- Experience in a similar role is a plus but not required
Salary and Benefits:
- £12 – £16 per hour, depending on experience
- 20 days annual leave (on a pro-rata basis), plus bank holidays and the Christmas break
