You’ll be reporting to the Senior Paraplanner and, ultimately, to our Executive Director, Joe.

This role doesn’t hold any managerial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Writing financial advice letters (including to top-up, withdraw or fund switch investments) using the appropriate research tools, ensuring the best client outcomes.
  • Ensuring that the client file including Fact Find, Adviser meeting notes and product information is fully and comprehensively complete.
  • Ensuring that client files and suitability/advice letters are fully compliant and technically accurate, liaising regularly with internal and external compliance support.
  • Obtaining illustrations, information and valuations from product providers as required.
  • Completing tax calculations where necessary.
  • Ensuring business is submitted to providers, promptly, accurately and within the agreed timescales.
  • Answering incoming calls, taking initiative to deal with client and provider enquiries.
  • Processing of client administration work; maintaining regular client contact and keeping them informed of the process.
  • Assisting with research required by IFP’s Proposition Team.
  • Ensuring processes and workflows are followed in line with IFP standards.
  • Maintain your daily task organiser, planning your workload, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Deliver an efficient, friendly, and professional service for all clients, providers, professional partners, and visitors.
  • Work in line with IFP’s CPD scheme and T&C scheme.
  • Fully supported through completion of CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Services.
  • Role development to writing financial planning and suitability reports when fully competent in financial advice letter writing and progress made towards Diploma completion.
  • Adhere to the cross-cutting rules and act in the spirit of the Consumer Duty to support the achievement of good Client Outcomes.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • GCSE qualified as a minimum, A level / BTEC Diploma qualification desirable.
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Working towards CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (desirable).
  • Previous experience in a paraplanning role (desirable).
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 programmes and, desirably, Intelligent Office.
  • Good organisation skills, with an ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good grasp of English language and Mathematical concepts.
  • Takes personal responsibility for consistently delivering high quality work with a good level of attention to detail.

Salary and Benefits:

The starting salary for this role is £26,000 (The salary range is £26,000 – £28,080 per annum, depending on experience and qualification progress towards diploma status).
