It’s not always easy to get a real sense of what a company is like from the outside. But I believe the culture that we’ve created at IFP is one worth sharing. And what better way to share it, than giving our team the opportunity to tell their story, in their words. I’ll be sitting down for a coffee with someone different every fortnight, to offer you a true feel of what it is like working here, through the eyes of each staff member.
Starting with me! Hi, I’m Lucie, and I’ll be leading the conversations over a coffee, in the coming weeks. I have the pleasure of working in Business Development and have been at IFP since December 2024. Originally, I joined on a temporary contract covering maternity leave – and luckily for me, I was offered the opportunity to stay permanently.
I genuinely love my job and the people I work with. As cliché as it sounds, the team really does feel like a big work family. I have colleagues who’ve become friends and neighbours – and I even met my best friend here. My favourite part of working for IFP is the sincere care that everyone shows for each other’s wellbeing. That, and the random office conversations that (in some cases!) should probably stay in the office…
But enough about the people, you’re probably wondering what I do (aside from making friends!). Day-to-day, my role is really varied. I get to be creative through avenues such as this series, designing content, and organising events. But I also get the chance to do some slightly more technical/analytical work. Being a bit of a chatterbox, I really enjoy the networking side of my role (although I did find it a little bit nerve racking at first!). I’m also a part of the wellbeing team, so some days I get to be involved in the fun activities that we put on in the office.
I’m really excited to launch this series and share more of an insight into life at IFP. So, what can you expect to read about? Well, that’s up to the team member being interviewed. They will have the choice of how much or how little they share, which stories see the light of day, and which stay untold until after a few drinks at the next work night out… But overall, you’ll get to know their journey, what it’s actually like working here, and if you’re considering joining the team, you might even find some insider advice.
